Beauty : Make-up routine for work

collage

A few months ago I already told you about my party make-up routine (see here) and today I will show you my ‘make-up routine for work’.

On above collage you see three photos of the beauty and make-up products that I have used to create my make-up for a day at work.

Photo left :

Step 1 : after showering, I cleanse my face with the Corine de Farme Micellar Water. I have been using this micellar water for some time now and I also used it during my at home facial which you could read here!

Step 2 : I use the Revitalift Filler Serum from L’Oréal. This serum is a good base as it gives your skin a smooth finish. After applying the serum I usually brush my teeth to give the serum time to set.

Step 3 : The next step is applying my daycream. I am currently using Revitalift Filler daycream from L’Oréal, which complements the serum.

Step 4 : I use the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair gel on my eyes. I am really satisfied with the product as you could read in this review.

Step 5 : I apply my MAC foundation (pro longwear nourishing waterproof foundation) with a brush to get an even effect. I haven’t been using this foundation very much as I am so fond of my Max Faxtor Face Finity lately. But anyway, this foundation is also very good… perhaps a bit too dark for my winter skin but I apply just a very thin layer as I don’t want to look too brown!

Step 6 : I brush the T. Leclerc Poudre Dermophile Translucide lightly over my face to matify my complexion. I really like this powder. It’s got a light texture and it’s nearly transparant. Unfortunately my pharmacists doesn’t sell it anymore. now I could order it online, but I recently bought another brand of which I will do a review later on!

Step 7 : I dab the Essence soo blush on the apple of my cheeks to add a slight pink glow. It’s the first time I bought a cream blush and I quite like the effect it gives! You can really dose how much you use and this colour gives a nice, healthy, natural glow.

Step 8 : I colour in my eyebrows just a tiny bit, as that frames my face. I use the eyebrow set from Mac (review). I have been using this nearly every day, ever since I bought it in June and still it isn’t finished! Talkin’ about getting your money’s worth 😉

Step 9 : For today’s look I use the eyeshadows from this MUA palette (which I got for free at my drugstore 🙂 !). For this look I went really natural :

  • on my eyelid I used 2 colours from the lower row, which I blended really well (2nd from right and 2nd from left).
  • just below my eyebrows and at the sides of my glabella I used the 4th colour from the top row as a highlighter
  • as an eyeliner I used the 5th colour from the top row
  • near my lower lashes I also used the 3rd colour from the top row

Step 10 : I curl my eyelashes and use several layers of my Rimmel Wake Me Up mascara (review) of which I am so satisfied! It really is a good mascara for a reasonable price.

Step 11 : To finish this natural look, I dabbed just a bit of vaseline on my lips to give them a nice shine and to nourish them.

On the photos below you can see the before-during-after shots! What do you think of this natural make-up? What is your make-up routine? Do tell in the comments!

Love, Kathleen

In this post you can see a make-up tutorial I did in the Antwerp Mac store.

    1. I agree that as you get older you should skip those funky eyeshadow colours… and also the shiny ones… but I just can’t do without eyeshadow 🙂 Love, Kathleen

  1. I don’t really use a lot of make up, but I can see that changing in the future. I used to be almost afraid of make up, but that has changed. I can really make an effort when I go to a party or a wedding now, but for a normal day at work, I just can’t be bothered ;-).

    1. I never go to work without make-up… once a year we have a sport event and even on that day I wear make-up!!!! So putting the ‘before’ picture here on my blog really is something for me, you can imagine 😀 Love, Kathleen
