It was a magical night… that night of December the 28th 1998… 

… that night where a golden-lit concerthall was steaming hot…

… that night when everyone was dancing the night and the year away to the tunes of one uplifting hit after another…

… that night we partied like it was 1999…

… that night that  1999 was actually only 3 nights away…

… that night that I remember to be one of the best concerts I have attented up to date…

… that night of never ending happiness…

… that night where one little guy made me sing ‘god is great’ and made me mean it even though I’m not catholic at all…

That one little guy… Prince… someone I have been a fan of since the early 80ies. As a 12-year old I could certainly sense the sexiness, the erotica in his voice, his looks, his videos. That certainly was a new sensation to me.

But what stuck with me from the beginning was the musicality, the beat, the uplifting rythm of his songs… the feeling that life certainly is a party… and that there is something else… the afterworld…

I really hope that Prince Rogers Nelson is in a world of never ending happiness… and that he càn see the sun, day or night… because that is what he sang… and that is what he deserves…

The world is one little guy poorer, but we are lucky enough to be left with his legacy… and that is enough to keep us dancing every single night of our lives like it was 1999…
