My outfit of the week is all about a colour I love… electric blue!  I think this colour really suits me, especially with my blond hair. Last winter, I did an outfit of the week featuring my coat in the same blue… but today I show you an entire outfit in that beautiful and vibrant colour.

I bought this dress two years ago when my husband and I were on a weekend break in the north of Holland. When I saw this dress in the shop, I was immediately attracted by the colour. And once I had it on I was sold because of that blue!

It’s from Claudia Sträter, a Dutch brand that sell elegant and stylish clothes. In the shops you are treated very professionaly and they really look at your body type to help you find the perfect outfit.

Back to this dress though… When I have to go to a party in winter, I sometimes wear this dress even though it is from the spring collection. Combined with a black pantyhose and a black short blazer or cardigan, the dress looks really nice and sharp.  But of course in spring and even on chillier summer days it can be worn without a pantyhose (or with a very natural one like the one from Falke I am wearing in these photos! I bet you didn’t even notice I was wearing a pantyhose!!).

With the belt, you can drape the dress around the tummy, so it hides those bumps and lumps you want to hide. This dress is perfect for women with an hourglass figure as you can accentuate the waist with belt.

I recently orderded these sandals from Dorothy Perkins and I’m glad I chose this blue colour. At first I wanted to play it safe and buy nude or black sandals, but as these shoes are not much more than just a couple of straps, I decided to order them in this electric blue so they would stand out. They will look fab under my skinnies, my white jegging and my chino pants and they will look lovely combined with a dress or skirt… yip… very satisfied with them 😀  I really like them underneath this dress. It’s rather a classic dress, but styled with these sandals, immediately makes it a bit more playful.
