Beauty ‘n Fashion: Leopard ‘n lace

Today’s outfit is all about mixing prints and fabrics like a pro… because I learned from a pro 😀 Read on to find out more about the how’s and why’s of this outfit…

Now I had the most fabulous experience last week… I got a 3 hour wardrobe planning from a friend of mine, Greet Moens who is a stylist!!! I was so excited when she offered this to me and I learned heaps. I’ll be writing an entire post on this wardrobe planning really soon, but today I show you an outfit I would never ever assembled myself… until that wardrobe planning!

Greet really has opened my eyes. Can you believe I had only worn this lace skirt with a black turtleneck (as seen in this post)?! I doubt that I will ever wear it that way again 🙂

For today’s post I’ve got a more exciting combination… I am wearing this lace pencil skirt (which I truly and utterly love!) with a leopard top which has been hanging in my closet gathering dust. This is a top from H&M I bought years ago and somehow I couldn’t get rid of it… but I didn’t wear it either! Until now 🙂 Don’t you think this top makes the pencil skirt just a tad more sassy?!

I am wearing a finely knitted cardigan with it I bought in a shop in the Marais years ago… again something I haven’t been wearing a lot. This too will get a new life I’m sure! I love the warm colour which looks great with the printed top.

My McGregor leopard printed ankle boots complete the look.

Greet has shown me how to work with colour and even though this outfit still has a lot of black in it, it definitely looks different than how I used to wear that skirt!!!

Do you like this outfit? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Love, Kathleen
