You might remember my Paris beauty shoplog? Well, the coming weeks I will share with you quite some beauty reviews concerning the products I bought back then… I’ll start with two sheet masks from Dr Jart+, a brand I had never heard of before.

The brand

Dr Jart+ is a skincare line which was created in Korea in 2004. The brand makes beauty products for all skin types. All products have been dermatologist tested and are claimed to be cruelty free.

The Dr Jart+ product line consists of many beauty products: serums, creams, BB creams, masks, etc.

I bought two sheet masks from this brand: the ‘wrinkless solution’ and the ‘clearing solution’. Below you can read my thoughts on both masks.

Dr Jart+ Wrinkless Solution

The promises

This is what I could read on the Dr Jart+ website:
“Thermosensitive gel is activated by body heat to release the beneficial ingredients infused within. The soft gel layer helps to seal in the ingredients to maximize the effectiveness of the mask and recover from moisture loss. Bio-peptide restores the appearance of healthy skin structure by supporting natural collagen and elastin synthesis. A wrinkle free complex—consisting of collagen, elastin, and adenosine—improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for a lifted, youthful-looking appearance and smooth complexion.”

How to use

This sheet mask consists of two parts: one for the upper part of the face and one for the lower part.

You take the sheet mask out of the packaging, remove the film liner and put the mask on your face. Leave it on for 20-40 minutes after which you can take it off and pat the remaining serum into your skin.

When used before going to sleep, I guess you could leave it like this and let the serum do its job for the rest of the night.

I used this mask in the morning. After taking the mask off, I patted in the remainder of the serum. As my skin felt a bit sticky, I rinced my face and then applied my usual skincare products before applying my make-up.

Pros

• very hydrating and nourishing formula
• easy to use
• hygienic
• my skin felt tighter and refreshed after using this mask
• the price (5,95 EUR for one sheet mask)
• attractive packaging

Cons

• At first the sheet mask slipped away. Fortunately after a minute or so it stayed put.
• The mask didn’t feel very comfortable on the skin, because of its structure.

Dr Jart+ Clearing Solution

The promises

This is what I could read on the Dr Jart+ website:

‘An ultra-fine microfiber sheet mask that controls blemishes and corrects uneven skintone. This silky, hydrating microfiber sheet mask—made of soft microfiber finer than a strand of hair—addresses trouble-prone complexions by soothing redness and inflamed skin from acne and preventing pigmentation. Featuring a super silky texture, the thin material of the mask gently clings to skin for even and consistent absorption of active ingredients. Glutathione, a potent antioxidant, visibly evens out skintone and helps brighten and improve the appearance of dark spots and discoloration. A trio of essential ingredients including salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and niacinamide control excessive oil and breakouts for a clear, luminous skin.’

How to use

This microfiber sheet mask consists of one layer fine material that you have to put on your (cleansed) face. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and pat the remainder of the serum into your skin.

• after using this mask, my skin looked radiant
• hydrates the skin
• leaves your skin fresh and even
• as opposed to the other mask, this one stayed on comfortably
• soft texture
• the price (5,95 EUR)
• attractive packaging

Cons

• none that I can think of

Conclusion

I really liked both masks. The Clearing Solution was more comfortable on the skin, but the Wrinkless Solution made my skin feel tighter…

Tip: The sheet masks are covered in serum. Once you have put the mask on your face, you’ll find lots of serum in the packaging. Don’t just throw that away! Apply it on your neck and cleavage or even on the back of your hands! Don’t waste anything 🙂
