Trips ‘n Travels: Holland – Roermond

Last week I told you about my visit to the Designer Outlet in Roermond. One of the reasons I like going to this outlet village, is the vicinity of the city of Roermond, which is worth a little visit on its own!

It literally is a 3 minute walk from the Designer Outlet to reach the center of Roermond. So when visiting the outlet village, you might want to have a peek as it’s a cute little, historic town.

Now, I must say that on both occasions I visited Roermond, I mainly focused on the designer outlet village. We did however have a stroll around Roermond itself and both times we had lunch in the city instead of in the outlet village.

I would recommend having lunch or diner in Roermond itself. The city is packed with lots of restaurants, brasseries and lunchrooms and they are usually in one of the many historic buildings (on the picture above you see the old rectory in which I had lunch when I went with my friend Katrien).

Walking around the city was a joy as it is packed with beautifully restored historic buildings and little winding streets. I just took a few pictures which I want to share with you today. Enjoy!

Love, Kathleen

  1. Whenever yu share places near to you, I always think it looks like you live in a very beautiful, picturesque place. I know Holland is pretty anyway, but your area looks gorgeous. So charming. Thank you for sharing Kathleen x

    1. Awww, thanks for this lovely comment Kerry!! Makes my day 🙂 I live in Belgium not far from Antwerp (which is lovely too!), but we just like those Dutch towns sooooo much 🙂 We’re lucky to live close to many great places. Within a radiance of a 2 hour drive we have so many possibilities… endless 🙂 Happy weekend!

    1. That’s so true! In many Dutch villages and cities, they do a great job restoring all those old buildings so a lot of them are so quaint and cosy to walk around in! Thanks for your comment! Love, Kathleen

  2. I’ve never heard of this town, so thanks for sharing it with us. So far we’ve never ventured out of Amsterdam, as that’s where we’ve been to deliver training, but maybe if we have longer there, we can explore further afield next time!
