Talks from the heart… Mistakes

Ferris Wheel
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world.” – Neil Gaiman

I know… it might be a bit weird to wish someone to make mistakes… but when I read this quote some time ago, I immediately wrote it down in my notebook… because I just new I wanted to use it at the end of the year…

Making mistakes… there is actually nothing wrong with it and yet we are often afraid to make them… and if we do make mistakes, we often try to hide them… we don’t want to talk about them… we don’t want to admit we made them… we are ashamed.

But when you actually stand still with your mistakes… when you take a long hard look at them… perhaps you will be able to find a solution. You might have to look for help and there is nothing wrong with that you know. Because it means you want to tackle your problem or your mistake… and that means you are learning…

Perhaps you will think twice next time before you do something… perhaps you will do it otherwise… and perhaps you will take somebody’s advise at heart to do something differently…

So yes… I encourage you to make mistakes in the new year to come… push yourself… change yourself… because then you are actually doing something… and it will move you forward in your life!

Good luck with all the mistakes you’ll make in 2017…

Love, Kathleen
