Today I put this very luxurious fragrance in the picture… Opium from Yves Saint Laurent… I was addicted at first smell!

I usually buy the same fragrances over and over again. I actually use the same 6 fragrances on repeat. I have already written a couple of posts about them:

• my summer favourites
• my all year round favourites
• the iconic fragrances

And now this Opium from Yves Saint Laurent is added to my list of favourites… I personally would put it under ‘the iconic fragrances’!

This Eau de Parfum from Yves Saint Laurent… now where to begin… how to describe it… well… it is very luxurious, heavy and exotic… spicy, mysterious and sensuous… powerful, smokey and smoldering… oriental, classy and addictive… sultry, sexy and sophisticated! Can a fragrance be all this at once?! Oh yes it can…

I can imagine that younger girls/women don’t like this fragrance. In my opinion you definitely got to have some maturity and confidence to be able to wear this perfume. To me it actually is the perfect fragrance to use in winter or in the evening.

I am sure that if Marilyn Monroe would ‘ve known Opium… she would definitely have had it in her bathroom cabinet… or on her night table… I’m sure she would’ve alternately have worn Chanel n°5 and Opium to bed 😉
