In ‘Exploring my neighbourhood’ neem ik je vandaag mee naar een fantastische winkel in Beveren: ‘De Plantage’. In deze winkel vind je werkelijk alles wat betreft thee… en nog zoveel meer! Ik vertel je ook wat meer over ‘Schuur Prosper’ (van dezelfde eigenaars als ‘De Plantage’), waar je terecht kan voor afternoon tea en degustaties.

Today’s ‘Exploring my neighbourhood’ is about a fabulous shop in Beveren ‘De Plantage’. In this shop you can literally find everything concerning tea… and so much more! I also tell you a thing or two about ‘Schuur Prosper’, a converted barn from the same owners as ‘De Plantage’, where you can have afternoon tea or enjoy a tasting.

What/Wat?

 

‘De Plantage’ is een winkel gespecialiseerd in thee en al wat daarbij komt kijken. In de winkel kan je ook terecht voor koffie, chocolade, sterke drank, sigaren, geschenken voor verschillende gelegenheden (verjaardags-, huwelijks-, geboorte-, relatiegeschenken,…).

‘De Plantage’ is recent verhuisd naar een groter pand. Dat vertaalt zich niet enkel in een uitgebreider aanbod, maar het geeft de eigenaars nu ook de kans hun klanten een kopje thee of koffie te serveren tijdens het winkelen. Er worden ook regelmatig thee degustaties gehouden in de winkel.

‘Schuur Prosper’ is een gerenoveerde schuur, waar men met een kleine groep (max. 16 personen) terecht kan voor afternoon tea en degustaties. Perfect voor een familie-uitje, een activiteit voor een vereniging of een teambuilding onder collega’s!

‘De Plantage’ is a shop selling mainly tea and tea accessories. But that’s not the only thing you’ll find at ‘De Plantage’. You can also buy coffee, chocolate, wine, spirits, cigars, gifts for several occasions (like weddings, birthdays, births, business gifts,…)

‘De Plantage’ recently moved to a bigger shop . This not only translates into having a more extensive offer, but the shopkeepers now also have the place to offer clients a cup of tea or coffee whilst shopping. On a regular base, tea tastings are held in the shop.

‘Schuur Prosper’ is a converted barn in which small groups (max. 16 persons) are welcome for afternoon tea and tastings. Perfect for a family outing, an activity for a club or as a teambuilding with colleagues!

Who/Wie?

De drijvende kracht achter ‘De Plantage’ en ‘Schuur Prosper’ is Karine. Zij is theesommelier en startte bijna 10 jaar geleden met een klein winkeltje in Beveren. Sinds de verhuis naar een groter pand, wordt ze bijgestaan door haar dochter Madeline. Op die manier zijn twee generaties vertegenwoordigd in deze conceptstore.

The driving force behind ‘De Plantage’ and ‘Schuur Prosper’ is Karine. She is tea sommelier and started a small business in Beveren nearly 10 years ago. Ever since moving to a bigger shop, she is helped by her daughter Madeline. That way, two generations are represented in the conceptstore.

In de winkel kan je terecht voor een kopje thee of koffie en de eigenaars delen graag hun kennis over thee en infusies tijdens degustaties.

‘Schuur Prosper’ is enkel beschikbaar voor groepen tot maximum 16 personen en er dient op voorhand gereserveerd te worden.

• gift packages for every occasion (they also have a lot of wedding gift ideas!)

In the shop you can have a cup of tea or coffee and the shop keepers gladly share their knowledge of tea and infusions during tea tastings.
