Trips ‘n Travels: Must-visit parks and gardens – part II

DSC_0595

Last week I showed you a couple of English gardens. Today we’re off to France and Monaco!

Paris – Parc Monceau

DSC_0594

Where

This park can be found north-east of the Arc de Triomphe.

Why

Parc Monceau is a haven in the hustle and bustle of the French capital! Buy a baguette, some Brie and a bottle of wine and enjoy a picknick!

Cap Ferrat – Villa Ephrussi Rothschild

Where

The gardens of Villa Ephrussi Rothschild can be found on the Cap Ferrat Peninsula near Nice.

Why

Stunning location!

The proof…

I lost a lot of my pictures of that holiday, because of a computer crash. Luckily I made a photo album. Most pictures you see below are pictures I took from that album, that’s why the colours look so weird and the quality is not very good.

Monaco – Jardin Exotique

DSC_2744

Where

OK, technically Monaco isn’t France, but I put it here just because it was during our holiday in the South of France!

This garden can be found in the district ‘La Colle’.

Why

The location is superb. You start your way on top of the rock and make your way down a winding path which is bordered with loads of exotic plants. The views over the Mediteranean are AMAZING!

The proof…

As above pictures of the Villa Ephrussi-Rothschild, these are also taken out of my album, hence the weird colours and the bad quality… but you get the picture 😉

Normandy – Jardins du Pays d’Auge

DSC_0589

Where

In Cambremer, between Lisieux and Caen in Normandy.

Why

Three hectares estate with several themed gardens. You can also admire typical buildings of the region which can be found in the gardens. After your visit enjoy lunch on the outdoor terrace!

Normandy – Giverny

DSC_0087

Where

Along the banks of the Seine between Paris and Rouen.

Why

Because of the water garden of course! You see Monet’s paintings come alive…
