Beauty ‘n Fashion: Urban Decay – Naked 2 eyeshadow palette

DSC_2211

I have been using MUA, Catrice and Essence eyeshadow palettes for the last couple of years and I am actually quite satisfied with them. They are cheap, come in various colour combinations and I didn’t have to feel guilty buying a new palette when the others aren’t finished yet.

But a couple of months ago I levelled up… I bought this Urban Decay palette (Naked 2) and I really wanted to know… is it worth the fuss?! Read on to find out!

I had used up most of the favourite colours of the palettes I own so it was time to buy a new one… but this time I didn’t go to my drugstore to buy a palette from Essence, MUA or Catrice.

No, I really wanted an Urban Decay palette… but which one? There are several palettes from the ‘naked’ collection and I opted for number 2 as the colours in this palette go so well with my complexion and eye colour.

The palette has these beautiful copper, taupe and gold shades, glittery as well as matte. There is also a very dark brown and a black, which can be used as an eyeliner or to add loads of drama to your look.

I have tried and tested this palette for a couple of months now and here’s what I think about it…

Pros

  • There are lots of colours in this palette… plenty of variations are possible! From completely naked to very dressed up and everything in between 🙂
  • The eyeshadows are all highly pigmented so you don’t need much to have the desired effect (go easy when you dip your brush in one of the pans!!).
  • Good quality two-sided brush: on one side you have the usual eyeshadow brush, on the other an eyeliner brush with which you can work really meticulously. I bought a second brush (from a highstore brand) so I use one brush for the lighter colours and the other one for the darker colours.
  • Sturdy case which closes well (this is definitely a problem with the cheaper palettes!).
  • Each colour contains 1,3 gram. This is nearly double the weight when I compare it with my cheaper palettes.

Cons

  • The price. It is quite expensive (52 EUR), but I bought it when I had a 30% discount voucher so  I payed about 37 EUR. This is way more than the palettes I used to buy, but I don’t need as much product as with the other brands. I guess this palette will easily take me a year to finish and then I think it is worth it.

Make-up looks

I have been playing with this palette a lot 🙂 Below you see a couple of make-up looks I have created using this Naked 2 palette.

Conclusion

OK, so this eyeshadow palette is not cheap, but I would definitely recommend buying it when you get the chance! You won’t regret it for a second…
