Beauty ‘n Fashion: How to style a bohemian dress (part I)

It’s been a while since I’ve posted outfits here on my blog, but I intend to make up for lost time. So here we go… and to start off, I’ve got this fabulous dress for you!

When I was in Aix-en-Provence in September, I bought a beautiful autumn dress. In today’s post I style it the fancy way, next week it’s more down to earth. So here we go with the chique version!

If I would have to describe the style of the dress I’d say it’s a bit bohemian and I feel perfectly comfortable in it no matter how I style it.

I fell for the fit of the dress and the beautiful mix of autumnal colours, even though I bought it on a day when it was over 30°C 😀 I wore it on our nights out during our holiday in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and now I am wearing it for several occasions… to go to a restaurant, but also to go to work.

It’s from the Italian brand Imperial. I hadn’t actually heard of that brand yet. I browsed their website and I really love the style! The prices are really ok as well, which makes it even better 🙂 You get something a bit different than you normally find in highstreet shops, but it won’t cost you an arm and a leg! Sadly there are no shops in Belgium that sell it… will have to go back to Aix-en-Provence then I guess 😀

Today  I will show you a chique way on how to style this bohemian dress, next week I will show you how I wear it to go to work on a colder day!

Actually, to wear it the fancy way, this dress really doesn’t need that much. I wore it exactly as it is, a button-down dress with a little drawstring in the waist, but then I added some lovely accessories with it.

First of all, the jewellery. I just love the matching earrings, rings and bracelet from the Colorati collection from Mylène! I already had the ring and earrings, but for a wedding I went to recently, I also bought the matching bracelet. It all went really well with the dress I bought for the wedding (which I will show you in the festive season!), but it’s also perfect to wear with this dress as the colours coordinate so well with the colours in the dress!

The pumps and handbag I also bought for that wedding. The soft pink suede shoes are from Peter Kaiser, a German brand. Even though they’re quite high, they are extremely comfortable. These pumps with ankle strap are perfect for my broader feet (during the wedding, I wore them all day and danced on them all night long!).

The little handbag is from Lauren by Ralph Lauren.

And last but not least my sunglasses… I like to buy sunglasses, but I always keep my old ones. I’ve got quite a selection now and I love how I can choose the perfect sunglasses to match my outfit 🙂 These sunglasses are now 10 or 11 years old and are from Armani. I still wear them regularly.

And that’s it for today’s outfit! Do you like this one? Perhaps you’re now curious how I’d style this dress to go to work… I’ll show you next week!

Love, Kathleen
