I am a very loyal person… also when it comes to cleansing my skin 🙂 I’ve got a strict routine in the morning and at night and I am a firm believer of the ‘double cleanse’ method.
Over the years I have been using all kinds of cleansing products and at the moment I am using these 4:
- Shiseido – Clarifying Cleansing Foam
- Corine De Farme – Rose water
- Rainpharma – Advanced Precleanser
- Rainpharma – Dedicated Face Wash
Morning routine
- Step 1: Shiseido – Clarifying Cleansing Foam
I used to apply the Shiseido Beneficiance Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam, but when I had to restock a while ago, the shop assistant told me that sadly, this cleansing foam was taken out of production. I was so sad, because this was such a fabulous, rich product that I liked to use (you can read the review here). I bought another cleansing foam from Shiseido, this time the Clarifying Cleansing Foam.
As I use the cleansing foam under the shower and as my face has been cleansed thoroughly the night before, I only need a tiny amount of product (actually less than on the picture above!), which means my tube will last me about 8 months. It’s rich, soapy and it doesn’t make my skin feel itchy or dry afterwards. Even though it actually reminds me of the other Shiseido cleansing foam, I preferred the other one since that smelled so divine and I believe it was even richer than this foam. But it certainly works fine for me!
- Step 2: Corine de Farme – Rose water
Before applying my skincare, I always freshen up my face with micellar water or rose water. At the moment I am using the rose water from Corine de Farm.
This rose water comes in a spray. I use it generously and wipe it away with a cotton pad. My skin is revived, it feels fresh and clean and the rose water removes any soap residues.
Evening Routine
- Step 1: Rainpharma – Advanced precleanser

I am a huge fan of the Rainpharma products. It’s a Belgian brand and the products are plant based. Ever since using their skincare products, my skin looks and feels better!
One of my favourite products is the Advanced Precleanser. It’s an oil-based cleanser which is very economical in use (as all other Rainpharma products). You use this cleanser on a dry face. Massage it in really well (I also rub it carefully on my eyelashes to remove my mascara) and enjoy the smell! Once it’s massaged in, take a bit of water and massage even further. Then rinse it all off.
I have written a review on the Advanced Precleanser before. You can read it here.
- Step 2: Rainpharma – Dedicated Face Wash (see picture at the top of this post)
The best double cleanse? Use an oil-based cleanser first (like the Advanced Precleanser) and then use a water-based cleanser, like the Dedicated Face Wash! It makes your skin completely clean without drying it out.
So after using the Advanced Precleanser, I dab my face a bit with a towel, but I don’t dry it completely, because then it’s onto the Dedicated Face Wash which is used on a damp face. Once again I massage this product in very carefully and once again you don’t need very much product!
If you want to find out more about the Dedicated Face Wash, read this review!
After this double cleanse, my face feels so fresh, clean and my skin feels hydrated. It might seem like a lot of work, but it has become a habit. Even when I go to bed in the midst of the nigth I do my double cleanse! My skin says thank you everytime 🙂
Love, Kathleen
