During our Easter break, we had the most amazing holiday in Spain and France. In the coming weeks I will share with you lots of travelposts of what we did, where we ate and were we slept and today I will start off with the place we stayed at in Spain: Casa Las Dos Salchichas!
A couple of years ago, Ingrid and Geert lost their hearts in Spain and they decided to buy a villa near Bocairent in the midst of the beautiful national park Sierra Mariola, about an hours drive south of Valencia. They renovated the villa and they now rent out 3 bedrooms to holiday guests. There is also space to park 2 camper vans.
We know Ingrid and Geert, so we wanted to pay them a visit to see where they ended up. As my husband isn’t really a fan of scorching hot weather, we decided to go in April, during our Easter break.
Bocairent is a 1800 km drive for us, so we did the trip in 2 days, having a stopover in Issoire. On Saturday 6th April, we arrived at Casa Las Dos Salchichas and our holiday could begin!
Ingrid and Geert have made something really special of their villa and surrounding grounds. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have comfortable beds and each room has a private bathroom. There is an honesty bar and there is also an outdoor kitchen for people who want to make their own lunch/diner.
Outdoor kitchen (on the right):
During warm and sunny days, you can refresh yourself in the pool and there are plenty of seating areas, making the most of the magnificent views and the surrounding area. Unfortunately when we visited, there was a very cold wind so we couldn’t sit or eat outside. Instead we spent the nights indoors, chatting with Ingrid and Geert and with the other guests that were staying in Casa Las Dos Salchichas.

Ingrid and Geert offer 3 bedrooms and if needed, they can also cater for breakfast and/or diner. Now I can really and truly recommend eating in as the breakfast and diner they offer is simply sublime… so tasteful and prepared with a lot of love! It’s varried and plenty and it can easily compete with the best hotels and restaurants if you ask me.
Breakfast/dining room:
Delicious breakfast
Diner on our final evening: salad with grilled tuna and potato wedges & icecream with strawberries and whipped cream
Even though they have only been living in Bocairent for a year, Ingrid and Geert know the area well. You can certainly ask them for tips on what to see and do.
As Bocairent is situated in a national park, it mainly attracts people who like nature, hiking, cycling and mountainbiking. Now we’re not really into those activities, but within an hour’s drive there are plenty of villages, cities and castles to explore, so we certainly could fill our days!
What we did those 6 days, will be revealed in the travelposts the next couple of weeks 🙂
Now we can truly recommend a stay in this bed and breakfast. Ingrid and Geert are the perfect hosts. They’re very friendly, open, communicative, but they will also respect your privacy and they will do anything to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. In every little detail you can see that they love what they do, which makes a stay at Casa Las Dos Salchichas a bit like heaven on earth I guess 🙂
If this review and the pictures have made you determined to stay at Casa Las Dos Salchichas, you can make a reservation through Airbnb.
