Last week I did part 1 of this post. There I told you that I am loyal to 6 favorite fragrances. In part 1 I told you about my summer fragrances : Parfum d’été by Kenzo and Fragonard by Fragonard.
This time, I post about 2 favorites that, in my opinion, can be worn throughout the year : Pure Poison by Dior and White Linen by Estée Lauder.
Pure Poison by Dior
I have been using this fragrance on and off for the past decade or so. I first bought it when it was released and at that time it was the only fragrance I used. It was like my signature fragrance. My sister Cindy once told me that whenever she smelled Pure Poison, she immediately thought of me (aaahh !!) and it actually stopped her from buying it herself ! After some time I started using other fragrances and I actually stopped using Pure Poison for a while… (I guess my nose had enough of it…). But of course… I kept the empty bottle ! And after about 2 years I bought the fragrance again and embraced Pure Poison once again !
So now it is one of my 6 favorites. It is quite a heavy smell, quite sultry and mysterious in my opinion. When I looked up what this fragrance is made of, I was surprised by the amount of florals used as it doesn’t have that typical floral scent in my opinion. It is quite a complex fragrance which I love and which will stay on my list of 6 favorites for a while longer !
White Linen by Estée Lauder
Aaahh… White Linen by Estée Lauder… where to begin… Well… let’s go back to the early 1990ies when my sister Maggy had to go to America for her job and bought this perfume at the airport… I fell in love with it immediately when I smelled it ! It is the favorite I have been using the longest. I must confess White Linen and I lost touch for a few years at the beginning of the 21st century (let’s call it my millennium mishap) but fortunately we were reunited after a few years. My sister-in-law Petra wore it on one of our many family gatherings and I was immediately taken by it once more. A couple of days later there was a bottle on my bathroom shelves again…
My bottle has been empty for a while now and lately I have been sniffing it quite often so that’s a sign to buy it again ! This fragrance is so fresh, so special, so powdery, so elegant. Again lots of flowers but again no typical floral scent.
I have loved this fragrance for so long now and it deserves a place in my top 6.
This was part 2 of my favorite fragrances post. One more part to go and that will be about two iconic fragrances on my bathroom shelf… do come back later to check which fragrances complete my top 6 !
Love, Kathleen
