A few weeks back I went to a dermatologist for a check-up. My husband goes every year so this time I’d thought I’d join him and made an appointment for the both of us.

As the dermatologist was examining my fully-exposed body (!), she spotted a dark spot on my lower back… She took a picture with her Iphone (hopefully not to share it…) and asked me if the spot had always been that dark… how would I know ! It’s not that I have eyes on my back you know (that would come in handy now I come to think of it…). I knew there was a spot, but in my opinion it had been there all my life and I didn’t actually notice it any more, let alone the darkness of it ! She wants me to come back in a few months’ time to have it checked again and warned me about sitting in the sun and going to a solarium.

Now normally in spring and summer, I go to a solarium once or twice a week to get that so-needed healthy-looking bronzed glow… I have to be honest now… I haven’t set foot in that solarium since my visit to the dermatologist ! Unfortunately I don’t have a healthy-looking bronzed glow of my own and don’t those summer outfits scream for some darker skin ? I need to seek refuge in lotions and potions now to get that tan I want !

But I found exactly what I needed :  Clarins Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster… this product comes in two sorts : one for the face and one for the body. It’s sort of a serum. For your face you only need  to add 2-3 drops  with your daily moisturizer and  your tan gradually builds up. After a few hours you’ve got that slightly darker skin as if sun-kissed. People even asked me whether I’d been on a holiday because it gives you just that tan as if you went away somewhere nice and warm.

The Glow Booster for the body works exactly the same : add a few drops with your usual body lotion to have that slightly darker skin. It’s far better than any other bronzing products I have used in the past ! You can spread it evenly, even on the trickier parts (that is ankles and knees !), so you don’t end up with streaks all over your body. It gives a beautiful, natural colour.

Both products come in a handy eye dropper, so you can measure the drops perfectly. Another plus is that the oh-so-typical bronzing smell is less present as you mix it with your moisturizer or body lotion.

I can only recommend these two products… no more solarium for me and that will definitely get me an A+ from my dermatologist !
