Talks from the heart: One year of good, fab and lovely posts – Quotes

quotes

Before I started blogging, I had the habit of putting a daily quote on my personal Facebook-page. So when I started blogging, I knew that I wanted to incorporate quotes on my  blog too. I opted for a weekly quote on which I let my thoughts run loose.

Some quotes are easier for me to rave about than others and apparently some are more popular amongst you guys than others! I notice that the quotes in which I get a bit more personal are your favourites.

In today’s post I look back on 1 year of good, fab and lovely quotes…

Like this one that didn’t do well at all, but that I really like myself… it’s a quote about looking at your mistakes as happy little accidents… because don’t you agree that when you handle your problems with that little bit of humor they don’t seem so bad?!

Or this quote from Confucius: “it does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop”… don’t you just think that this quote is so spot on! Sometimes life is rushing by so fast that you just can’t seem to keep up with it. I reflected this quote on my blog which was only a couple of weeks old at the time. I’ve just re-read my thoughts on this quote and I think it is still so true. I can still stand behind every word I wrote back then… what do you think?!

A final quote that not many of you have read but that I really like is one from Coco Chanel : “beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself”. I still think it is ever so important to stand out… to be proud of who you are and what you stand for… here you can read my thoughts about this quote!

And now over to the top three… these three are quotes on which I wrote very personal thoughts. You really get to know me a bit better by reading these posts!

Bronze: burn-out

About a year ago I suffered from a burn-out… I never thought this could happen to me! This is a very honest and true post on the effect the burn-out had on me. And I really think writing about it was part of the healing process… because yes… you can heal from it and yes you can feel better than before! Read all about it here.

Silver: a happy marriage

In this quote I tell you my top tip for a happy marriage. Now I won’t spill it here… just click this link to find out!

I am so glad that this post did so well. It’s the story of my husband’s illness and how we dealt with it… the problems, the setbacks, trying to maintain a “normal” life in abnormal circumstances.  It was very tough to write it all down and I must admit that I didn’t keep it dry whilst writing as it brought back so many bad memories… Thank you so much Peter for letting me share this on my blog…

I  will keep on posting quotes and I will keep on writing my thoughts about them. It sometimes helps me deal with things…

Which quote was your favourite and why? If you’ve got quotes you really like, please post them in a comment below. Perhaps they’re an inspiration to me for some futute quote posts?!

Love, Kathleen

  1. I like the quote: dream like you’ll live forever, live like you’ll die today. It reminds me to live in the moment, rather than dwell on the past or worry about the future. It also encourages me to live a little more and try new things.
