Fashion: Woollen pants

Relaxing in Jardin des Tuileries, enjoying the warmth of the autumn sun.

Today’s outfit is all about a classic piece… the grey woollen pants. I wore them at the beginning of the month on my daytrip to Paris and my friend Katrien took some photos there which I am now using for this post.

These pants are another great buy from the outlet village Maasmechelen, where I sometimes go shopping with my good friend Katrien. These pants are from Tommy Hilfiger and are loose-fitted. This can be quite tricky for smaller people like me. To make my legs look longer in these pants, I use 3 tricks :

  • I left the pants as long as possible, nearly touching the ground as I stand up.
  • I wear my sweater inside my pants to visually elongate my legs.
  • I wear high heels underneath these pants.

I’m wearing a nude pink sweater from & Other Stories, which I bought together with the polkadot skirt I showed you in last week’s outfit of the week. This sweater is really cosy as it contains mohair which makes the sweater really soft and warm. The colour of the sweater makes the pants look more feminine in my opinion, it softens the look.

I am trying the layering trend here as I am wearing a white silk blouse underneath the sweater, just revealing the collar. I must say that I like this ‘gamin’ look on me… especially for a daytrip to Paris!

I normally wear my mary-janes underneath these pants, but as I would be strolling around Paris for 12 hours on end and these mary-janes are quite high, I let my mind speak instead of my fashion heart… So I opted for my comfortable Tamaris ankle boots… I know… fashion-wise not the best match, but my feet and back were very grateful to me at the end of the day!

My Max & Co sunnies, my ‘time turner’ necklace, my & Other Stories earrings and my red lipstick complete this look. I felt at ease and comfortable in this outfit. What do you think of it ? Any comments are welcome!

Love, Kathleen
