Time for a new beauty rewind! In this post I will fill you in on the past 20 beauty posts that appeared here on ‘The good, the fab and the lovely’. I will tell you which products I still use, which I wouldn’t buy again and which are my absolute favourites!
Estée Lauder : Perfectly clean multi-action foam cleanser/purifying mask
This product definitely belongs to my favourites from this beauty rewind. It really is a rich product to use which my skin appreciates. I use this cleanser alternately with that other Estée Lauder multi-action cleanser I already told you about a couple of months ago… the one with little scrub particles in (see here). Both are top products and recommended by yours truly!
In the colder monthsI like to unwind with a long hot bath… preferably with one of these three bath foams which I always buy at the Mylène homeparties my friends and I regularly organise. They all smell gorgeous and give plenty of bubbles in my bath… they’re definitely keepers 🙂
I was really pleased with this gel from Biotherm. But ever since my sample is finished, I haven’t come around yet to buy this product again. I also think it’s more a product to use in the summer months as it is so fresh, hydrating and light in consistency. I have been using other daycare products these past few months as I’m always eager to get to learn new products! I don’t think I will buy it again though…
This classic cream is one I’ve always got on my bathroom shelf. This past winter I have used the cream several times as a night cream and I sometimes even used it as a hydrating cream for my legs or as a face mask! It is such a classic… so definitely a favourite.
These 2 Essence eyeshadow palettes are still part of my daily make-up routine. I am really glad with the quality of these (very cheap!) palettes. I will certainly buy Essence palettes again! Perfect quality for a very low price…
Red lipsticks
A beautiful red lipstick must be the best accessory a woman can wear! This past winter I especially used my Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet (n°38) asi t has a very deep red colour. The Dior and Chanel lipsticks don’t come cheap, but they are definitely worth the higher price and I will certainly replace them once finished!
In this post I told you about my party make-up. I still use most products. The contouring kit from Essence though isn’t what I expected (I chucked it out already to be honest…). I only used the highlighter a few times as it didn’t give the expected result. A couple of weeks ago I bought a highlighter at a Mylène homeparty. and guess what… I might just do a review about that one!
I’ve been going to Claudia, my nail artist, for almost a year now and I just can’t do without beautifully manicured nails anymore… it’s as simple as that! So gel nails yay or nay ??? Definitely a YAY 🙂
Estée Lauder : advanced night repair
This post was all about two top products from Estée Lauder : the advanced night repair for the face and the eye serum. These products are really good, but quite expensive, especially the serum for the face. I have bought the eye serum again though as that is my problem area… my eyes can use all the help they can get!
This is a really good body cream. I bought two large tubes (and a tiny one to put in my purse) at a wellness resort in Holland but sadly they are empty now and I haven’t come around yet to buy new ones. I wanted to order a couple of tubes on Amazon, but they didn’t ship to Belgium 😦 I’m still looking out for them though… If anyone of you knows where I can buy this cream, let me know!
My weekly at home facial is a sacred moment to me! It’s some quality time for myself ànd my skin… I didn’t empty the Oil of Olaz serum I used at the time because my skin reacted to this product. Ever since I stopped using the serum, my skin got better and I didn’t break out in spots like a teenager! So I won’t be buying that serum again… But a mask, a peeling, pampering my face… well… it’s on my agenda every week!
Max Factor – Face Finity foundation
This foundation really is a good product. It’s a foundation which lasts all day and it doesn’t feel greasy at all. The foundation comes in a variety of shades, so you’ll certainly find the right shade for you. It is also a very light product to use, so I will keep on using it in summer (although I will buy my beloved CC creme from Erborian again as I was really chuffed with that one last summer!).
This daycream from Estée Lauder is a very good, hydrating cream. At the moment I am using a daycream from L’Oréal, but I would certainly buy this Daywear again as it’s a fresh, light daycare which also contains an SPF. In fact, I definitely prefer this one over the Biotherm Aquasource Gel you could read about in this review.
Unidose face masks
I love using unidose face masks! It’s hygienic and you can pick out the mask that your skin needs. My favourites are the Nivea smoothing mask and the Fruit Smoothie and Virgin Olive masks from Montagne Jeunesse.
This peeling is on my shopping list everytime my friends and I organise a Mylène homeparty… good quality at a reasonable price, what more do you want 🙂
As I like wasting some time in my bath, I cannot do without bath products… like bath oil! It’s really hydrating for the skin, so definitely something that I regularly buy… like that one from Mylène in the beautiful blue bottle… (I’d buy that just for that bottle 🙂 !)
In this post I filled you in with my make-up routine for work using natural colours. I still use that MUA palette as it’s got such gorgeous colours! And recently I bough a new palette from MUA of which you will read a review very soon 🙂
These two Nivea shower products are both lovely to use. I love the smell, the creamy texture and the price! So I tend to buy them quite regularly.
These two L’Oréal skincare products are worth their money. I definitely can see some changes on my skin… I regret not taking a before/after shot as I sometimes think that I’m imagining it… but no… the lines between my nose and lips and those around my eyes have definitely faded a tiny bit!! Well… I think so anyway 😀
Yves Saint Laurent – face palette collector gypsy opale
This limited edition pressed powder from Yves Saint Laurent doesn’t come cheap, but it gives your face a radiant shine . I don’t know whether I’ll be able to buy it again once finished as it is a limited edition… but then there will be something new to explore!
So this was my second Beauty Rewind. I hope you liked this post and perhaps it gave you tips and ideas for beauty products!
If you use great beauty products, please let me know! I am always eager to learn about new products…
Love, Kathleen

How absolutely gorgeous are your nails Kathleen – that colour and the shine is just an incredible combo! I’ve been toying with getting gel myself. Is yours and overlay or is it a polish? K xoxo

these are my real nails which have several layers on them : first a primer’, than a base coat, a colour coat and then a gel coat. The shine really stays until my next manicure. I get my nails done every 3-4 weeks and I’m sooooo happy with them!!! She really does a great job… I never ever had decent nails until now! The only downside is that I only get to pick a colour every 3-4 weeks… 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Karen! Love, Kathleen

But look at how beeeeeautiful that colour is Kathleen… so the 3/4 weeks wouldn’t bother me at all 😀 Are they hard to remove? I really must check these out as I’d love them in the way you have them (without an extension) if that makes sense. LOVE the beautiful glossy shine – fabulous!!! XXXX

Everytime the nail stylist removes the polish with a nail file (first a bit with an electrical one, the rest manually). That’s the most boring part, but while she’s doing that I get to chose a colour from the like 300 colours she has… that makes the time pass by really quickly 😀

hehehe I bet it does… though I’m THEE most indecisive person ever so it would be a torture for me! lol lol Thanks so much for explaining it all Kathleen – definitely going to give it a whirl. I’m a qualified Acrylic nail tech but gels are a whole new ball game for me, think it will take me to get it done so I can see it live – if that makes any sense at all lol XXXX

good luck 🙂 before going to my nail artist I check some photos on IG to help me decide which colour I want… sooo difficult! But hey… if that’s my only problem, I can certainly live with it 😀

lol lol Very true – and what a great tip!!!! I’ve spent the weekend glued to YouTube Kathleen brushing up on my acrylic skills, but can’t wait to try the gel – I’ve a UV lamp on the way… eeeeep!!! lol Will still need to get a treat to see it done first hand though 😉 XXXX
